What happens when we don't let go of what hurts? How does it affect us and the people that's around? How does the psychological pain translate physically? Does it affect us all in a same way? - Úrsula Urgelés
This short-film was created for the project Open Space 2023 - a collaboration between composers and dancers from the Nederlands Dans Theatre. In this short-film, Úrsula focused on the pain of having lost her father in the year prior. It's imagery is based on a dream she had in which she was hugging her father and not wanting to let go. While being pulled by a mysterious force, her arms stretch indefinitely and become deformed. For the choreography, she built these "deformed arms" and performs with them. They are a hassle and a burden she needs to cope with.
In the video recording sessions, Úrsula had sensors in her arms that captured her movement and fed a live-electronics system coded by me. The recorded material was the basis for the final sound accompanying the video (after further processing and montage).
Vessels of Home
Rowan Moonlion
Vessels of Home seeks moments of belonging through the creation of rituals, artifacts, and myths. Weaving together past, present and future; making circles in time and space. The quilt represents the slow building of stories culminating in a web of ancestral history. Images framed in ceramics become portals to mundane and magical worlds, placing emphasis on the sacredness of nature. Slowly moving visuals provide an opportunity to connect to one's bodily presence. Moonlion searches for an understanding of horizontal transcendence. How can we sustain a world where humans stand equal to blades of grass, and where identity and institution no longer hold all power? - Rowan Moonlion
Vessels of Home was shown at Young Talent at Galerie Caroline O'Breen (Amsterdam, NL, 2023), Photography graduates 2023 at Melkweg Expo (Amsterdam, NL, 2023) and at the KABK graduation show (The Hague, NL, 2023).

In response to 2020's overload of horrendous events, touch starvation and inability to come together as a community I dreamt of a queer utopia. A place where queerness is accepted and ever present. We're all Queer Here Darling became an infinite project of spreading queer joy.
This project was realised through collaboration with skilled artists and friends. Together we feasted on a banquet provided by Angjelina Nonaj, wore fabulous clothing designed by Yamuna Forzani, danced in the beuys bois garden, cast spells in my home and cuddled in the dunes. Together we created brave space where queer people can be themselves without fear. - Rowan Moonlion
This film was shown at FEKK 2022 (Ljubjana, SLO, 2022) and at the The Menstrualition Project at Alte Münze (Berlin, DE, 2022).
